Kadoorie botanic garden – hidden jewel in Hong Kong

Kadoorie botanic garden

Kadoorie botanic garden in Lam Tsuen, Tai Po, is one of Hong Kong’s little known green secrets with organic farming terraces, botanic gardens with cobbled paths, pavilions, bridges, waterfalls, picnic spots, and native forest to the summit of the mountain, Kwun Yum Shan, at over 1800ft above sea level. What I really like about Kadoorie botanic garden, besides that this is a great place to escape to, is its variety of educational displays, sustainability features and wildlife rescue facilities. The educational information is very basic and maybe a bit outdated but it is, unfortunately, one of the few places in Hong Kong educating visitors about sustainability through workshops and special events.
