Tsukiji Fish Market in Tokyo

Tsukiji Fish Market

I could tell you how awesome and amazing the Tsukiji Fish Market is but in all honestly I was an itsy bitsy underwhelmed by the experience. Despite getting up at 5am we miscalculated the travel time from our hotel to the market so we missed the morning tuna trade. That was really unfortunate because that seemed to have been the most exciting part of Tsukiji Fish Market. Like any other picture-abiding tourist I did take several photos of the fish stalls but I could not find something that was photograph worthy. The only thing that caught my attention was a tiny white plastic bucket with bright red octopus.

Don’t get me wrong. If this is the first visit to a fish market in Asia the Tsukiji Fish Market has an impressive range of exotic and deep ocean monsters. If you enjoy the frenzy of people shouting early in the morning I recommend you to visit my local wet market in Sai Ying Pun in Hong Kong.
